Boys’ Soccer: Sage Hill’s Burns, Ellingson make All-Academy League first team

Sage Hill School junior midfielder Will Burns and goalkeeper Adam Ellingson are two of four boys’ soccer players garnering first-team All-Academy League laurels for the Lightning, who finished in second place in league for the second straight season.

The other two Sage Hill players representing the first team are sophomore defender Gordon Strelow and halfback sophomore Nicolai Sadeghi.

The Lightning (11-8-1, 6-3-1 in league) won at Riverside Woodcrest Christian, 3-2, in the first round of the CIF Southern Section Division 6 playoffs.

Sage Hill sophomore striker Anthony Gil, junior halfback Danny Lee and sophomore midfielder Milad Rohani made the second team.

Luis Ceballos of St. Margaret’s was named the Academy League MVP.
