UCI's Lee honored

UC Irvine freshman Luciane Lee earned Big West Women's Golfer of the Month accolades for the month of March. It is Lee's first conference honor and the first for an UC Irvine athlete this season.

In the lone tournament in March, Lee posted her best collegiate performance at the Juli Inkster Invitational with a third-place finish. She carded a three-round score of 220 (71-74-75) at the Almaden Golf and Country Club to lead UCI to a sixth-place finish in the 14-team field which included four top-20 squads. Her score of one-under-par 71 on the first round tied her season-best.

The freshman recorded eight birdies over 54 holes.

She is second on the team with a 76.53 scoring average.

The Anteaters will hold a dual match with Long Beach State on Monday at Strawberry Farms Golf Club before traveling to the Fresno State Lexus Classic April 15-16 and participating in the Big West Championships April 21-23 at the San Luis Obispo Country Club.
