Mt. SAC Relays

WALNUT — Senior Sam Hyams had the top showing for UC Irvine Thursday on the first day of the 55th annual Mt. SAC Relays at Hilmer Lodge Stadium in Walnut.

Hyams finished ninth in his section and 25th overall of 132 total runners in the1500 meters with a season-best time of 3:49.01.

Tommy Newton-Neal recorded a time of 3:56.62, Andrew Snyder 3:57.14 and Amir Shirif 4:01.23.

UCI has student-athletes competing in the Mt. SAC Relays and at the Beach Invitational (at Cerritos College) Friday and Saturday.

Mt. SAC Relays

WALNUT — UC Irvine opened competition Thursday in the 55th annual Mt. SAC Relays at Hilmer Lodge Stadium in Walnut.

Senior Samia Sailinuu led the Anteaters, finishing ninth in her section of the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:37.57.

Kaycee Holcomb recorded a time of 4:39.62 in her section while Chloe Fata finished in 4:51.93.

UCI continues action in the Mt. SAC Relays Friday and Saturday, and there will also be a contingent of Anteater competitors in the Beach Invitational at Cerritos College those same two days.
