Revolutionary War history comes alive for El Morro pupils

Fifth-grade students at Laguna Beach’s El Morro Elementary School reenacted Revolutionary War battle scenes and portrayed famous people from that era Thursday as part of an activity called Walk Through the American Revolution.

California Weekly Explorer, a Tustin-based company that specializes in interactive history programs for elementary students throughout the state, organized Thursday’s event. El Morro students have participated in the event in previous years.

“This really helps the kids connect with the people and events that led to the birth of our nation,” teacher Melissa Martinez wrote in an email.
