A Costa Mesa liquor store sustained about $3,000 in losses when it was burglarized early Friday, authorities said.

Someone threw a rock through the front window of Marina Liquor at 895 W. 19th St. at about 3:30 a.m. while the store was closed, said Sgt. Patrick Wessel of the Costa Mesa Police Department.

The person entered the store alone, ran through the business and took a case of cigarettes, the cash register and the cash drawer, Wessel said.

No one else was in the store at the time.

Police are reviewing surveillance footage with the store’s staff, Wessel said.

The burglar, who appeared to be a man based on stature, was wearing dark clothing, Wessel said.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Police Department’s detective bureau at (714) 754-5637.
