Mariners Christian School held a dedication ceremony Thursday for the school’s new 21st Century Learning Commons.
The renovated facility was funded by a $250,000 grant from the Argyros Family Foundation. Representatives from the foundation as well as Costa Mesa Mayor Steve Mensinger, school board and administration members and parents and supporters were in attendance at the ceremony which included speeches and a ribbon cutting.
The donation transformed the school’s original library into a 2,000-square-foot learning commons into a modern, technology-rich center for students to learn and collaborate, according to school representative Julie Hellrigel. She said major upgrades in technology and infrastructure allow better access to online media and add excitement for digital learners.
