Man arrested with $100,000 in meth and heroin, H.B. police say
Huntington Beach police arrested a Van Nuys man on suspicion of possessing more than $100,000 worth of methamphetamine and heroin, authorities said.
Mario George Marin, 41, was taken into custody after being pulled over for a traffic violation near Warner Avenue and Gothard Street around 6 p.m. Thursday, said department spokeswoman Jennifer Marlatt.
A K9 unit arrived to the scene and discovered more than 20 pounds of meth and 289 grams of heroin, each in multiple containers, inside his car, Marlatt said.
Marin was arrested for possession of controlled substances for sale and transportation of controlled substances, Marlatt said.
Marin, who posted bail Friday, pleaded not guilty Monday and is due back in court Oct. 28 for a pretrial hearing, according to court records.
