Stones tribute band starts up Newport concert series

The Newport Beach Arts Commission kicked off the annual Concerts on the Green series Sunday evening with the Hollywood Stones doing their Rolling Stones tribute on the Civic Center lawn.

The remaining shows in the four-concert summer series are:

Aug. 14: Pacific Symphony (Musical Playground activities for children at 5:30 p.m., followed by the concert from 7 to 8:30 p.m.)

Aug. 21: Rumours (Fleetwood Mac tribute), 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Sept. 11: The Springsteen Experience (Bruce Springsteen tribute), 6 to 7:30 p.m.

The Civic Center is at 100 Civic Center Drive, off Avocado Avenue.

Admission to all concerts is free. Guests can bring picnics, blankets and low-slung beach chairs. Food trucks also will be available. Alcohol is prohibited.
