Student-athletes celebrated as they sign National Letter of Intent

High schools in the Newport-Mesa area honored senior student-athletes who signed their National Letter of Intent Wednesday to compete in college.

There were ceremonies where several photos were taken to celebrate the announcements.

At Corona del Mar High, three seniors will continue to compete for USC. Water polo players Brendan Hack and Ben Brooks are excited to be Trojans, as is Taylor McMorrow (girls’ soccer).

Jonathan Polos, also a senior for the CdM boys’ water polo team, is staying nearby, as he signed his NLI for UC Irvine.

At Estancia, girls’ soccer players Samantha Falasco (Arizona) and Olivia Khoury (Concordia) were honored.

Sage Hill School was represented by girls’ soccer players Lexi Magliarditi (Duke) and Claire Novotny (Grand Canyon University). Boys’ water polo player Harrison Miller, also of the Lightning, will compete at NCAA Division III Claremont McKenna.

At Mater Dei, Newport Beach residents Elias Deeb (Chapman University, Division III football), and Luke Wyatt (USC, water polo), and Corona del Mar resident Bennie Seybold (Harvard, water polo) were also recognized.
