Mary Rose Gehring<br/>July 3, 1923 - April 21, 2014

Mary Rose Gehring, 90, a long-time resident of Glendale, CA, died April 21, 2014 in Calabasas, CA. Born July 3, 1923 to William and Rose Diroff in Ann Arbor, MI. Mary moved to CA after completing her nursing degree at Mercy College in Detroit, MI in 1945. She worked as an RN at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Los Angeles where she met her future husband, William Frederick Gehring and married April 19, 1947. They lived for a few years in Los Angeles, but spent most of their lives living in Glendale. Together, they enjoyed many travels to places that included trips to Germany, Fiji, and New Zealand.

Mary is survived by her four children, William R. Gehring, Nancy Lou Gehring-Welch (Neil), Barbara Jean Baranek (Joseph), and Thomas Frederick Gehring (Donna); 6 grandchildren Kristen Helsel (James), Christopher D. Baranek (Emily), Gregory J. Baranek (Kayla), Eric Baranek (Desere) William Gehring (Dana) and Jason Gehring, and 6 great-grandchildren, namely, Josten, Emelia, Sophia, and Elise Helsel, Camber and Hailey Baranek and many nieces and nephews. Active in Holy Family Parish, Mary was preceded in death by her husband in 2006.

Mass and interment were held April 30th at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City, CA.
