Rosemarie S. Cannady of Palm Desert, CA, passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at the age of 86, following a recent illness.
Born in Gary, Indiana on October 31, 1928, she was raised from the age of three in New York City and moved to Connecticut as a young adult. In 1962, she moved to Naples, FL and subsequently to Southern California in 1967. A nurse herself, she later founded and managed the Glendale Nurses Registry in Glendale, CA until her retirement in 2004, when she moved to Palm Desert, CA.
A devoted mother and grandmother, Rosemarie most enjoyed spending time with her family. She also enjoyed traveling, tap dancing and bowling, and most especially celebrating the holidays with her loved ones; she loved Christmas best of all. In her later years she enjoyed going to the movies and watching her favorite game shows on TV. Always the life of the party, she was a fun-loving person with a ready smile and an infectious laugh. Although she will be sincerely missed, her memory and her spirit will live on.
She is survived by her daughter Linda McClure and her husband Gordon, her daughter Karen Sataloff, her daughter Marie Bokker and her husband Duane; her grandchildren Melissa, Sarah, Daniel and Jacki and five great-grandchildren; her brother Vincent Urbanski and his wife Noreen of CT, her sister Carole Amato of NY, her sister Erica Lindsay and her husband John of PA, six nieces and nine nephews, four grandnieces and six grandnephews.
Rosemarie was preceded in death by her husband, Earl W. Cannady, Sr. in 2000, her son, Earl Jr. in 2004 at the age of 39, and her brother Joseph Urbanski in 2011.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 2, 2015, at Eternal Valley Mortuary Chapel, 23287 N. Sierra Highway, Newhall, CA 91321.
In lieu of flowers we would like donations to the American Lung Association for COPD.
