Raymond Joseph Martin, Sr. Born on September 19, 1927 in New York City. Deceased from Parkinson’s complications on July 9, 2012.
He was a World War Two Naval Veteran and a sales executive. Ray was a resident of Glendale, California for over forty-five years.
Friends and family will miss his humor and generous spirit. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, and as a charming and witty storyteller. He was a longtime member of the Santa Anita Turf Club. Ray also enjoyed coaching local baseball, softball, football, and basketball teams.
Ray is survived by his wife Shirley of 54 years, son Raymond, and daughters: Lauren Culp (Joseph), Linda Spelta (William), and Lesley Smith (Brad). He has nine surviving grandchildren: Ryan, Nicholas, Jackson, Chandler, Sedona, Isabelle, Kieran, Payton, and Slater. He is survived by his sister Joan Graff (Herb) of New York City and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be held Monday, July 16th at 9:00 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montrose, CA.
