Doris was born in Keystone, IN, moved to Burbank in 1936 where she married Stanley Bungay in 1939. Stan predeceased her in 1979. Her daughter Karen Bungay Belkin predeceased her in 2002. She is survived by son Rodney Bungay, her son-in-law Alan Belkin, her granddaughter Stacy Belkin Ness, and Jason Ness as well as two great-grandchildren Taylor and Holly Ness. All loved her and will miss her greatly.
Doris was known for her radiant smile, youthful energy, and adventurous attitude. As a widow she traveled the world where she experienced white water rafting, helicopter glacier landings, elephant riding, and hot air ballooning. Her slogan was “If it is to be – it is up to me.”
She worked as a bookkeeper for Lockheed manufacturing, and Baskin-Robbins. She generously gave many years of her time to causes including, Camp Fire Girls, Burbank PTA, Lelani of Childrens Home Society, and City of Burbank Rose Parade Float volunteers. She has been an active member of Burbank First United Methodist Church since 1952.
Memorial service is scheduled for Sunday, November 11th at 3 PM at Burbank First United Methodist Church, 700 N. Glenoaks Blvd., Burbank. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to “A Leaf on Tree of Life” located in the foyer of the Methodist Church.
