Glendale Memorial plays Santa
Glendale Memorial Hospital employees on Wednesday delivered gifts at Cerritos Elementary for 28 families who would otherwise go without presents this holiday season.
Forty-seven hospital departments spent the last two months buying gift cards, food, clothing and toys, spending from $300 to $500 on each family.
“Many of the departments decided to forgo their office party or gift giving for each other,” said Bonnie Butler-Sibbald, manager of volunteer services for Glendale Memorial. “I’m just so proud of this hospital and the departments for stepping up and taking care of a family that really needs the help.”
This year marked the highest number of families adopted since the hospital began gathering gifts for Cerritos Elementary families more than 10 years ago.
