Patricia Carole Vartanian, SP January 3, 1943 - December 26, 2012

Sr. Patricia Vartanian died on December 26, 2012 in Seattle, WA, at 69 years of age, after 51 years as a Sister of Providence. Vigil Service: January 3, 2013, St. Joseph Residence. Funeral Mass: January 4, 2013. Bonney-Watson Funeral Home, Seattle, WA is in charge of the arrangements.

Sr. Patricia was born to John and Mary Theresa (Boyajian) Vartanian on January 3, 1943 in Hanford, CA, joining an older brother, John. She graduated from Providence High School, Burbank, CA, in 1960.

Sr. Patricia entered the Sisters of Providence on August 15, 1960, made her first profession on August 19, 1963, and her final vows on August 25, 1968.

She attended Seattle University, Seattle, WA; Gonzaga University, Spokane, WA; University of Oregon, Eugene, OR; University of Washington, Seattle, WA; University of California, Berkeley, CA; Intern, Providence Medical Center, Portland, OR; University of California, Berkeley, CA; University of California, Berkeley, CA.

From 1965-1971, she taught at St. Joseph Grade School, Vancouver, WA; Monroe High School, Fairbanks, AK; Kennedy High School, Seattle, WA.

She held accounting and financial positions at Providence Hospitals in Everett, WA; Issaquah, WA; Oakland, CA; Portland, OR; Anchorage, AK; Sacred Heart Province; Provincial Treasurer/Councilor, Holy Angels Province, Edmonton, Alberta; Licensed Massage Practitioner, Washington State.

She is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her brother, John, Visalia, CA and eight nieces and three nephews.
