Paul Edward “Ed” Berg Jr. DDS January 16, 2013

Dr. Ed Berg, died January 16, 2013 after a lengthy illness.

Ed was born in Glendale California to Paul and Florence Berg. He graduated from Loyola High School, Glendale Community College and Loyola Dental School in Chicago, Illinois. He spent two years as a dentist in the Army at Fort Hood, Texas where he met and married Alice “Bee” Berg. He returned to Glendale and practiced dentistry with his father, Paul, and then his brother, John, for almost 4o years until he retired in 1996. Ed loved to garden, watch football and spent much free time collecting seashells and building sand castles at his vacation home in Avalon, Catalina. He
was affectionately known as the “Sandcastle Man”.

He is survived by his wife, Bee, sister, Virginia (Bob) Raine, brother, John (Ruth Ann) Berg, sons, Michael Berg and Stephen Berg, daughter, Kathy (Lou) Meltz, and six grandchildren.
