Vickie Marie (Helms) Whitney February 18, 1947 - February 3, 2013

Vickie passed away February 3rd, 2013, in Redmond, Washington at the age of 65 after a two
year battle with cancer. She was born Vickie Helms on February 18th 1947, at San Diego Naval
Hospital, the daughter of David & Juanita Helms. She graduated from Glendale High School in
California in 1964 then went on to graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition fromLong Beach State in 1969. Vickie married Gary Whitney of Burbank, the love of her life, on February 1st 1969 and together they enjoyed 44 blessed years of marriage. Vickie is survived by her mother Juanita Helms-Stubbs and brother David Helms Jr. both of Glendale. She is also survived by her children Nathan Whitney, Jennifer Whitney, Jill Carter, and grandchildren Madison Whitney, Michaela, Ella and Jackson Carter. She is preceded in death by her father David Helms Sr. and her son Matthew Whitney.

Vickie and Gary moved their family to the state of Washington in 1981. Vickie was a very faithful and disciplined student of the bible. She was involved with Bible Study Fellowship and teaching Sunday school. She enjoyed volunteering for Heartbeat Serving Wounded Warriors, gardening, attending sporting events for her children and grandchildren, and cruising in their sports car with Gary; the most precious time was time spent with her family.

A private burial for Vickie was held Thursday, February 7th at Sunset Hills Memorial in Bellevue,
Washington. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service was held on Saturday, February 9th, 2013
