Share

The 18th annual Glendale/Foothill Communities 5K CROP Hunger Walk is Sunday and begins at Incarnation Catholic Church, 1001 N. Brand Blvd. Registration and pre-walk activities begin at 1 p.m. with the walk kickoff at 1:30.

Preregistration is available at cwsglobal.org/glendaleca.

Local organizers are taking the Feinstein Challenge and the money raised will help increase the group’s proportionate share of $1 million given by the Alan Feinstein Foundation to hunger-fighting agencies in the United States based on funds raised between March 1 and April 30.

Food collections count, so bring canned goods by.

A portion of the funds raised in Glendale will go to the hunger-fighting work of four local food pantries and the food voucher program of Glendale Community College. The pantries are Catholic Charities Loaves and Fishes, the ShareOurSelves Thrift Store, the Salvation Army and its Meals on Wheels program and the food pantry of the Bailey Human Care Center in Tujunga.
