Opal quietly slipped from her earthly shell to rejoin her beloved husband Ralph, daughter Barbara, and her son-in-law Phillip. Opal was known for her loving heart, her gift of hospitality, her age defying skin, and the best lemon meringue pie in the world. At the moment of her death, Opal was surrounded by son Ralph, daughter Twila, Erin, one of her 10 grandchildren and 13 great children. She was soon to meet her first great great grandchild.

Opal and her family were longtime members of the 1st Baptist Church of Burbank, where she served as their wedding reception hostess for many years. She later, joined the United Community Church of Glendale, where she attended until moving to Sparks, NV, in 1982.

Opal is survived by her son Ralph (Susie) of Irvine, CA, daughter Twila Zarrella of Sparks, NV, son-in-law Ross Payne of Oroville, CA, sister Ruth Jameson and brother Herbert Bachelor both of Durango, CO.
