Passed away at her home in Burbank on September 4th, 2013, at the age of 90.

Dolores was born June 2nd, 1923 in Watkins, MN; the third of 4 children of Nicholas and Susan Schreifels. After graduating from high school, Dolores joined her two sisters working in the defense industry in Southern California. She built parts for P-38 fighter aircraft, and B-17 bombers during the Second World War. After the war she worked for Pan American Airlines.

Dolores met and married the love of her life Jacob Jason Libby, Jr. (Jac) in 1948. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on August 7th of this year. Dolores and Jac had three children: Jacob Jason, III (Jay), Janet Susan, and Joseph Edward (Joe); and one grandson, Jason Patrick.

While raising her children Dolores worked in Burbank schools, and finally spent 15 years as receptionist for Doctors Hensley and Crundwell’s Small Animal Hospital. This last job was a favorite because she loved animals and had a special way with them. Anyone who knew Dolores will remember her love for her shelties.

She was an active member of St. Finbar Catholic Church for 64 years.

Dolores and Jac loved to travel: from road trips to cruises with family and friends, they visited 48 of the 50 United States, crossed Canada, and toured Mexico, the Caribbean, and Europe.

Her hobbies included ceramics and painting, and she was a talented seamstress. She also enjoyed trying out new recipes for family and parties.

Dolores is survived by her husband Jac; son Jay and his wife Debbi and their son Jason of Valencia; daughter Janet of Burbank; son Joe and his wife Lisa of Fresno; sister Marian Dold of Cold Spring, MN.

The Funeral Service will be held at the Old North Church at Forest Lawn, Hollywood Hills at noon on Friday, Sept. 13th.
