Margaret “Peggy” Knight January 7, 1909 - September 7, 2013

Margaret (Walker) Knight, 104, passed away quietly Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Windsor Manor in Glendale, California.

Margaret, known to most as Peggy, was born January 7, 1909, in Newark, New Jersey, the first of six children of Albert and Elizabeth Walker. In 1933 she married John Knight, a native of Augusta, Georgia. After the war, they were transferred by NBC from the East Coast to Los Angeles. John was engineer for KNBC in Hollywood, and later became head engineer for all broadcasts from Mt Wilson.

Margaret and John moved to La Canada-Flintridge in 1947, living in the same house on Viro Road, until she relocated to Windsor Manor in Glendale. She was an active member of the La Canada Presbyterian Church, The Thursday Club, and La Canada Women’s Club.

Margaret enjoyed cooking and entertaining the family around the holidays. She loved playing bridge with her bridge group. She was an animal lover, especially cats.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, John, her parents, five sisters and brothers, and their daughter, Jeanne, who died of Leukemia at the age of nine.

Margaret is at rest at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Glendale, California.
