Frederick King Miller was born on November 21, 1917 in Flint, Michigan. He passed away October 26, 2013 in Pasadena, California. Fred was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend to many. He was predeceased by his wife of 47 years, Martha, and is survived by daughters Peggy Behar (Bruce), Judy Smith (Ray), granddaughters Jennifer and Lauren, sister Elizabeth Ann Smith, and many nieces and nephews. A graduate of Western Michigan University, Fred served as a Lieutenant in the Air Force during World War II.

A life-long golfer, he spent many happy hours at Brookside Golf Course as a member of the Brookside Men’s Club and Men’s Club Seniors. Fred was a parishioner of Church of the Incarnation in Glendale, and an ardent supporter of both granddaughters and their friends throughout their years at Westridge School. For the last three years, he lived at Villa Gardens in Pasadena and enjoyed the company of other residents and the outstanding staff.

We are so honored to have known this man, who embodied the fine character of the Greatest Generation. He charmed us all with his generous spirit, sense of humor, and gentle heart. We will cherish his memory, tell his stories, and strive to make him proud.

Funeral Mass will be Thursday, October 31 at 10:00 at Church of the Incarnation, Glendale.
