Alfonso S. Villalobos May 14, 1928 - November 13, 2013

Alfonso S. Villalobos passed away Wednesday, November 13 at Glendale Memorial Hospital with family and friends around him. A service will be held Saturday, November 23 at Forest Lawn, Glendale at 1:00 pm.

Al came to Los Angeles from Mexico at the age of 14. He attended Belmont High School and Los
Angeles State College, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. He then began a 33-year career at Bethlehem Steel, and continued his career with Precision Specialty Metals until retirement as Vice President of Engineering.

He was a lifelong handball player and the Glendale YMCA has a handball court dedicated in his honor.

Al is survived by his wife Ruth, his son John, his brother Juan and wife Madeline, three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
