Community: Los Altos Auxiliary delivers 150 centerpieces

Share

The Los Altos Auxiliary spent the Monday before Thanksgiving creating and then delivering 150 centerpieces to homes throughout Glendale and Pasadena.

The harvest-styled arrangements included evergreens, eucalyptus, fresh flowers and fall foliage — with fruit and vegetables as accents — in a basket.

Auxiliary members devote their time to enhancing the lives of the boys who are in residential treatment at Hathaway-Sycamores Child and Family Services’ El Nido campus in Altadena. Proceeds from this year’s event will fund a holiday trip to Disneyland for all the boys in residential care.

“We are thankful for the support of our friends, and the community, in supporting this seasonal fundraiser that enables us to improve the lives of the Hathaway-Sycamores boys in residential care,” said Jennifer Herzer, Los Altos co-president.

Additionally, they will help support Hathaway-Sycamores’ residential facility’s broad spectrum of mental-health and other support services including educational materials, furniture refurbishments and an outdoor patio area.

Los Altos Auxiliary has been affiliated with Hathaway-Sycamores Child and Family Services since 1993, but has been fundraising in support of children for more than 50 years.
