Alvy P. Moore February 3, 1920 - February 27, 2014

Alvy Moore (Bucky) passed away at his home in Glendale on Feb. 27th, with his daughter and son by his side. He and his wife Lucille were long time residents of Glendale and active members of the community.

He was born in St. Joseph County, Missouri and came to California in the early forty’s. Bucky served his country in the US Navy during WWii and retired from the Naval Reserve as a Commander. He was a member of the 1st United Methodist Church in Glendale, Glendale Lodge #368 F & AM and was extremely active in the Boy Scouts of America, Verdugo Hills Counsel. He served as a Webelos Leader. a Cub Master and in 1970 was instrumental in starting Troup #161. He received the Silver Beaver Award for his outstanding dedication and service to the Boy Scouts in Feb., 1985.

He began his education at UCLA later transferring to USC. He is a member of the USC Alumni Assn. He obtained his law degree in 1952 from Southwestern University in Los Angeles.

Mr. Moore is preceded in death by his wife of over fifty years, Lucille, his son Kirk and his granddaughter Amber Rose.

He is survived by his daughter Robyn Moore of Glendale and his son Peter Moore of Paumdale, seven grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and other family members.

Viewing will be held on Tues, Mar. 4th from 6pm to 9pm at the 1st United Methodist Church, 134 No. Kenwood St, Glendale, in the Carlson Fellowship Center. Memorial service will be held on Wed, Mar 5th, 11am at the 1st United Methodist Church, 134 No. Kenwood. Interment will follow at
Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Hollywood Hills, California.

In lieu of flowers the family is suggesting that donations be made to the Scholarship Fund at USC, Los Angeles.
