Community: Inspiring audiences for 25 years

It is no surprise that the Glendale Youth Orchestra has thrived for 25 years. The reasons were obvious during the orchestra’s early March concert. Even if you can’t read a note, you can’t help but be inspired by the beautiful music performed by these young artists. They play beyond their years. Conductor Brad Keimach even admits he is truly blessed with the calibre of musicians he has in the group.

Featured soloist and concertmaster Sarah Worden was incredible on Beethoven’s Concerto for Violin. And what fun it was to watch Charlie Chaplin’s 1916 silent film “The Rink” while the orchestra accompanied it with the score by Carl Davis.

I urge you not to miss the orchestra’s upcoming events. A showcase recital will be at 6 p.m. April 12 at the First Congregational Church of Glendale and the season finale, featuring the concerto winners, will be at 7 p.m. May 18 at the Alex Theatre.
