Crescenta Valley PTA: Picture days, school fundraisers in the works

Mountain Avenue Elementary

“Picture Day” will be on Friday.

The annual “Get Acquainted Picnic” will be held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday on the school’s upper field. The sixth-grade parents will be selling hamburgers and hot dogs.

The first dine-out event of the new school year will be held from 3 p.m. to closing on Sept. 16 at Togos/Baskin Robbins, 2611 Foothill Blvd., La Crescenta. The event is a fundraiser for the school.

Monte Vista Elementary

Enjoy some delicious food at Baja Fresh, 2637 Foothill Blvd., La Crescenta, tonight, and the school will receive a percentage of your purchase.

This Friday, join the fun activities including “Fire Up Your Feet Friday,” “Spirit Day” and “Monty’s Mochas.” Wear your red spirit clothing to school. More information is available in the office.

La Crescenta Elementary

The school’s PTA just celebrated its 100th anniversary.

“Picture Day” will be next Wednesday.

The next PTA meeting will be at 6 p.m. on Sept. 9 in the cafetorium.

A food drive will be held the week of Sept. 14.

On Sept. 16, there will be a special “Family Lunch Day,” where families can come out and eat lunch together.

Fremont Elementary

The kindergarten welcome dinner will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday in the auditorium.

The next PTA meeting will be at 8:30 a.m. next Wednesday in the auditorium.

The next PAC meeting will be at 7 p.m. on Sept. 14 in the auditorium.

Rosemont Middle School

The PTA is off to a strong start with a record-breaking crowd attending the first meeting to hear Alex Guthman, an emotional wellness counselor, speak about helping children cope with the stress of middle school and life.

The PTA is halfway to achieving its parent membership goal of 100%. It is a lofty goal, but certainly not out of reach.

The PTA Reflections Art Contest will kick off on Sept. 8, with entries due by Oct. 16. The theme this year is “Let Your Imagination Fly.”
