Crescenta Valley student hospitalized after being struck by car

A student at Crescenta Valley High School was hospitalized after being struck by a car on Thursday during the campus’ lunch period, according to the Glendale Unified School District.

A student at Crescenta Valley High School was struck by a vehicle on Thursday during the campus’ lunch period, according to a spokeswoman with the Glendale Unified School District.

The student was crossing the street near Ramsdell and Prospect avenues around 12:30 p.m. when they were struck by the vehicle.

Kristine Nam, a school district spokeswoman, said the student was conscious and responsive after being hit. The current condition of the student, who was transported to a local hospital for treatment, is unknown.

Nam added that Crescenta Valley High is an open campus, and students are allowed to leave school grounds for lunch.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.
