La Crescenta man dies in 118 Freeway collision

Arbi Azilazyan, a 40-year-old man from La Crescenta, died on Nov. 10 after being thrown from his motorcycle in a traffic collision on the 118 Freeway in the city of San Fernando, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A 40-year-old La Crescenta man died last week after being thrown from his motorcycle during a traffic collision in the city of San Fernando.

Arbi Azilazyan was riding his Honda Nighthawk motorcycle on the westbound 118 Freeway on Nov. 10 when, around 8:10 p.m., he began to approach the San Fernando Road exit at a high rate of speed, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Azilazyan lost control of his motorcycle and was thrown from it after colliding with a raised concrete wall.

The CHP said in a statement that he died as a result of his injuries.
