Glendale police are warning the public that if they see a man with bright dye on his clothes, he may be the one who robbed a Bank of America earlier today.

The man was seen running with cash from the bank on the 200 block of North Glendale Avenue shortly after the robbery was reported at about 11:30 a.m. just blocks from Glendale police headquarters.

The man ran on Wilson Avenue and up a staircase to a second-story parking structure, where witnesses told police an idling red, two-door car was waiting, Glendale Police Sgt. Tom Lorenz said.

The man did not display a weapon during the robbery, and it was not immediately known if he passed a note to a bank teller, police said.

A dye pack hidden in the stolen cash exploded on the street and likely got on the robber, Lorenz said. Anyone who sees a man with dye on his clothes or body was asked to notify police immediately.

The man was described as 5 foot 5 inches to 5 foot 9 inches tall, in his 30s, chubby and with short hair.

He was wearing glasses, a black hat, black shirt and pants and a jacket, police said.

The driver of the car was described as being a man in his 20s with dark hair.
