A man found dead in his La Crescenta residence Friday has been identified, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Sheriff’s deputies found the body of 73-year-old Arthur Palmer inside the attached garage of his residence, located in the 3000 block of Frances Avenue, according to Deputy Juanita Navarro-Suarez.

Palmer was a “known recluse” and his death appears to have been a result of blunt force trauma, according to a statement from Navarro-Suarez released Monday.

Sheriff’s deputies initially went to the residence after receiving a call from a concerned neighbor who had not seen or heard from Palmer for some time.

“(Deputies) went to the scene and found a body,” Lt. Douglas Mohrhoff said in an earlier statement. “They secured the scene and notified homicide detectives.”

No additional information was immediately available.

Anyone with information about this incident can contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500. To report information anonymously, call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS (8477).
