A 29-year-old man was arrested Friday after reportedly spitting on a Foot Locker employee who would not give him a discount, officials said.
At around 4 p.m., police were called to the Glendale Galleria, where the man, identified as Edward Beasley, had requested a military discount while he was purchasing items from Foot Locker, said Glendale Police spokeswoman Tahnee Lightfoot.
When the cashier, a 33-year-old woman, couldn’t verify Beasley’s military status and therefore did not give him a discount, he reportedly called her names, swore at her and then spit on her face, Lightfoot said.
Beasley, who was argumentative with police at the scene, was arrested on suspicion of battery and resisting arrest.
He was being held in lieu of $20,000 bail.
