John Holt Jr

John Holt Jr., 48, passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2010, at Ball Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.

He was born January 18, 1962, in San Diego, California, the son of John Holt Sr. and Lavada (Morgan) Wooten.

John grew up in Muncie and moved to California in 1979. He graduated from John Burrough’s High School in 1981. John was an excellent athlete. He was an All-State Baseball player and an avid bowler. After high school, John went to Los Angeles Trade Tech and was granted licensure by the state of California to be an electrician. He was a twenty-seven year member of the Burbank Elk’s Club. John was a very loving son and father and will be missed dearly by his family.

His survivors include his two sons, Jeff Holt (wife-Sierra), Farmland; Kevin Holt, Parker City; his father, John Holt Sr. (wife-Adrianne), Burbank, California; five siblings, Ramona Nelson (husband-Bob), Parker City; Bill Holt (wife-Carla), Burbank, California; Melvin Holt, Burbank, California; Kenneth Holt, Muncie; Ann Dodd (husband-Jack), New Castle; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his mother.

Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 12, 2010, at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel, with Pastor Rusty Clements officiating. Burial will follow in Tomlinson Cemetery.

Family and friends may call from 12:00 p.m. until the time of services on Friday, November 12, 2010, at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel.
