Man fatally shot in Glendale neighborhood

A man was killed early Saturday morning after he was shot several times in front of a Glendale home, police said.

Just before 4 a.m., Glendale police responded to the 1600 block of The Midway Street after receiving numerous reports of shots fired, according to Glendale Police Sgt. Robert William.

The victim, who appeared to be in his 20s, was found dead on the front lawn of a single-family home in a neighborhood near Glendale Community College. The residents reportedly told police they did not know the victim. Investigators are working to identify him.

Glendale police have closed The Midway Street between Kirkby Road and Towne Avenue for their first homicide investigation of the year.
