Glendale police pay a special Easter visit to Cerritos Elementary

Glendale police delivered roughly 500 Easter gift bags to students at Cerritos Elementary School on Tuesday.

Organized and funded by the Glendale Police Officers Assn. on behalf of its Cops for Kids program, the event allowed police officers, civilian employees and volunteers to interact with Glendale’s youth.

Officers distributed reflective snap bracelets, as well as Cops for Kids pencils and Easter treats to every classroom.

“It gave us an opportunity to go out and talk to kids in classrooms, to talk about police being their friends and to emphasize the safety aspect of them traveling in cars and being out on the road,” said Glendale Police Sgt. Ben Bateman.
