Parking lot brawl in Glendale leads to man getting stabbed, police say

Glendale police are trying to piece together what sparked a fight in the parking lot of a Jons Market Tuesday night that resulted in one of the men being stabbed.

Several men were reportedly fighting in the parking lot at the market, located at 1717 W. Glenoaks Blvd., sometime around 11:30 p.m. The men had scattered from the area by the time officers from the Glendale Police Department arrived.

According to department spokesman Sgt. Dan Suttles, the incident “was pretty much a nothing call” until they received word from the Burbank Police Department that a man was found with a stab wound who was involved in a fight at Jons.

Suttles said the man’s injuries were non-life-threatening and “was a pretty minor injury as far as stabbings go.”

It’s unknown where the man was stabbed or what had injured him, he added.

The man was uncooperative with officers and did not provide details about the fight or the stabbing.

Instead, officers plan to comb through security-camera footage and look for additional witnesses to interview in order to find out what happened that night, according to Suttles.
