Woman found in the middle of La Crescenta street with stab wound to her neck

A Glendale woman is in stable condition after being stabbed early Sunday evening.

Authorities said the woman, described as in her 50s, was found in the middle of the street by a passerby around 5:47 p.m. in the 3700 block of Mayfield Avenue with a stab wound on her neck. She was transported to a nearby hospital and underwent emergency surgery.

Investigators believe the assault stemmed from a domestic incident between the woman and an unknown man, according to Glendale Police Sgt. Robert William.

Police are still on the lookout for the man, who is not believed to be a danger to the public, William said. A suspect description is unavailable at this time.
