Pair suspected of shoplifting at Vons

Two people were arrested Wednesday after they were allegedly caught trying to shoplift cans of baby formula from a Vons supermarket, police said.

At around 8:40 a.m., officers were called to the Vons at 311 W. Los Feliz Road regarding the theft, said Glendale Police spokeswoman Tahnee Lightfoot.

Los Angeles residents Andra Lauren Isachsen, 32, and George Alex Corredor, 43, were reportedly spotted putting six cans of Enfamil baby formula into paper bags, walking past the registers and exiting the store without paying, Lightfoot said.

They were seen getting onto an MTA bus, but the vehicle was stopped by officers at Los Feliz Road and Boyce Avenue in Los Angeles, she said.

After being positively identified by a Vons employee, Isachsen and Corredor were placed under arrest on suspicion of burglary, Lightfoot said.

Further investigation revealed a warrant was out on Corredor for alleged petty theft.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office filed burglary charges against the pair on Thursday.

Isachsen was being held in lieu of $20,570 bail, while Corredor was being held without bail because of his prior arrest.
