State tax office moving to downtown Glendale

The Van Nuys branch of the State Board of Equalization will be moving to a downtown Glendale office building on Dec. 15 and offer in-person services as well as new kiosks for customer use.

The new office will be located at 505 N. Brand Blvd., Suite 700 and will open at 8 a.m.

The state agency collects state tax filings and issues seller’s permits for businesses.

“[The Board of Equalization] will offer the same in-person services in Glendale that our customers currently enjoy in Van Nuys, but in a larger, more modern setting to help us simplify and expedite services to our taxpayers,” said Venus Stromberg of the agency’s public affairs office.

The move also brings the addition of six self-service computer kiosks for taxpayers to register or file their return online, she said.

A seventh kiosk will help with assigning and scheduling visitors to the lobby service window, Stromberg said.

The Van Nuys branch, located at 15350 Sherman Way, Suite 250, will close permanently on Friday at 5 p.m.
