A 39-year-old Glendale woman was arrested Saturday when she allegedly punched a police officer in the face and bit his arm.

The woman, Elena Minn, reportedly entered the Burger King in the 1200 block of East Colorado Street at about 3:37 p.m. and asked employees for a cup of water, according to Glendale police.

Minn initially filled her cup with water, but then allegedly returned several times and served herself soda. Employees asked her to stop and to leave, but she refused and began yelling profanity, police said.

The officer approached Minn, who denied stealing soda and reportedly refused to let him see her identification card.

Minn began to walk away, but then turned around and allegedly punched the 34-year-old officer in the face.

As the officer tried to detain Minn, she allegedly bit his left bicep. At that point, the officer was able to hold her down as a second officer arrived and provided back up.

Minn was arrested on suspicion of battery.
