Thomas - Kallem
Sandra Thomas of Westlake Village and Scott Kallem of Burbank were
married at the First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Larry Stamper
officiated.
The matron of honor was Lori Matzner. Bridesmaids were Stacy
Hollinger, Nancy Shaheen, Becky Thomas and Shannon Matzner. Courtney
Wilson was the flower girl.
Mike Matzner was the best man. Ushers were Darin Wolf, Mike Kemp, Jeff
Nelson and Jim Hamilton. Ringbearer was Christopher Matzner.
A reception followed at the Pickwick Center. The couple honeymooned in
Hawaii and are living in Burbank.
The bride is the daughter of Margaret and Richard Thomas of Parma,
Ohio. She graduated from the City of Hope School of Radiation Therapy and
is employed as a radiation therapist at the City of Hope National Medical
Center.
The bridegroom is the son of Sharon and Frank Kallem of Burbank. He
graduated from Loma Linda Universsity and is an ultrasound technologist
at Kaiser Permanente Hospital.
Michele Maduras and James Yoder were married at the Santa Anita Inn.
The Rev. Dan Bird officiated.
The bride was escorted down the aisle by both her father, Mike Maduras
of Glendale, and stepfather, Ron Murr of Montebello.
Ashley Fernandez was matron of honor. Michelle Rowe and Erin Lamborn
were bridesmaids.
Greg Petersen was best man. Groomsmen were Joe Yoder and Sam Vaquera.
Ushers were Troy Petersen and Scott Gilpin.
At the reception, the couple danced to the first song they danced to
together in ninth grade at Crescenta Valley High School, “Lady in Red.”
They have delayed their honeymoon, which will be in Antigua and are
living in Pasadena.
The mother of the bride is Doris Murr of Montebello.
The bride graduated from Crescenta Valley High School, received her
bachelor’s degree in English at Cal State Fullerton and is earning her
master’s program in English at Fullerton.
She is a technical writer at Info Line.
The bridegroom is the son of Mikklie and Glenn Yoder of Grand
Junction, Colo.
He graduated from Crescenta Valley High School and Cal Poly San Luis
Opispo. He is a plant manager at The Fulfillment House.
Wendy Scherzer of Glendale and Dale Bronson of Tujunga were married
at the Foothill Christian Church in La Crescenta. The Rev. Darrell
McGowan officiated.
The maid of honor was Lori D-Amore. Joanna Brubaker was the
bridesmaid. Gregory Bronson was the best man. Ushers were John Bronson
and Justin Bronson.
The couple honeymooned at Disneyland and are living in Tujunga.
The bride is the daughter of the late Margaret A. Scherzerand Vernon
E. Scherzer of Glendale. She graduated with a word processing certificate
in 1987 from Glendale Community College. She is employed as an office
manager of Ultrawave Corp.
The bridegroom is the son of Peggy and Lee Roy Bronson of Downers
Grove, Ill.
The groom graduated from Downers Gove South High School in Illinois.
He is employed in the sanitation department for the city of Los Angeles.
The couple shared a small wedding and will have a renewal of their
vows in april at Foothill Christian Church.
Jennifer Kay Peters and Jason Michael Spohr were honored at an
engagement party at the home of the bride’s parents, John and Stephanie
Peters. They are planning a December wedding.
Jennifer is a first-grade teacher at Stevenson Elementary School in
Burbank. Originally from Wisconsin, she was raised in Burbank and
graduated from Burbank High School in 1990. She has a bachelor’s degree
in liberal studies from San Francisco State University and a teaching
credential and master’s degree in education frm National University.
Jason, the son of Stanton Spohr and Judith Spohr, is the auto
mechanics instructor at Burbank High.
He is a native of Burbank and graduated from Burbank High School in
1987. Jason has a bachelor’s degree from Cal State Los Angeles in
vocational education and will graduate with a master’s in business
administration from Woodbury University in May.
Jennifer and Jason met when one of her brother’s friends (a student of
Jason’s at the time) suggested that they get together. After a blind date
on May 14, 1997, their relationship grew. Jason proposed at his 30th
birthday party on June 11, surprising family and friends.
