GLENDALE -- A Glendale yogurt maker recently collected $6.1 million
from a dairy company, ending years of legal wrangling over a stolen
recipe.
Continental Culture Specialists of Glendale has been fighting several
companies over the past 20 years to recover lost profits, said Chris
Carr, one of the attorneys who represented Continental in the last trial.
A jury ordered Stueve Brothers Farms -- formerly known as A1819566368
The case stemmed from Continental’s allegations that Alta Dena took
Continental’s trade secrets for its yogurt, Carr said.
In April, Stueve Brothers Farms agreed to settle the case for $6.1
million, Carr said. The company made its final payment Oct. 29, he added.
Continental won about $2 million in compensatory damages in 1989 from
Alta Dena and others, Carr said.
