DOWNTOWN -- Ford Motor Co. and “Sesame Street” are teaming up for a
automotive safety campaign at the Glendale Galleria and Star Ford.
Called “Buckle Up with Sesame Street,” the child safety clinic will be
2 until 7 p.m. Thursday at Star Ford, 900 S. Brand Blvd.
Safety professionals will check a child’s seats for proper
installation. Kids can have their picture taken with a “Sesame Street”
character.
On Friday through Sunday at the Glendale Galleria, there will be shows
at noon, 2 and 4 p.m. by “Sesame Street” characters about safety. The
song-and-dance program will teach children and parents about safe seating
techniques and the importance of wearing seat belts.
Such characters as Elmo, Rosita and Telly Monster will entertain kids.
There will be 6 p.m. shows Friday and Saturday.
Children are safest when they are properly buckled in in the back
seat. Children between 4 and 11 and weighing between 40 and 90 pounds
should use a booster seat to help position the safety belt across the
shoulder and hips.
