Smith and Holmes

Cathy Lynn Smith of Sacramento, formerly of Glendale, and Tobin John

Holmes of Sacramento, formerly of Riverside, were married at Westminster

Presbyterian Church in Pasadena. The Rev. Carolyn Crawford officiated.

Scripture and inspirational readings were presented by the Rev. Roger

Dermody, college pastor of the bride, and the Honorable Dallas Holmes,

Superior Court judge and father of the groom.

Maid of honor was Lori Smith, the bride’s sister. The bridesmaids were

Laura Couch, Alison Crisp, Kelley Dermody, Shannon Fox, Jill Grace, Karen

Hansen, Debbie Tkach and Karen Weiss.

Best man was Mark Holmes, the groom’s brother. The groomsmen were Mark

Anderson, Dan Cunnison, Chris Gardner, Seth Gustafson, Jack Leer, Chris

Nordstrum, Eric Tong and Henry Walker.

The reception was held at The Athenaeum on the campus of the

California Institute of Technology. Former Glendale resident and

childhood friend of the mother of the bride, Ann Lekven, led a string

quartet, which provided music during the ceremony and the reception.

The couple will honeymoon in Tahiti and will make their home in

Sacramento.

The bride is the daughter of Joan and Raymond Smith of Glendale.

She attended Crescenta Valley High School and received a bachelor’s

degree in political science from UCLA. She later received a juris

doctorate with distinction from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge

School of Law.

She works as an associate attorney with the law firm of Kronick

Moskovitz Tiedemann and Girard.

The groom is the son of Patricia and Judge Dallas Holmes of Riverside.

He attended John W. North High School and received a bachelor’s degree

in government from Pomona College. He later received a juris doctor and

certificate in government affairs from the University of the Pacific,

McGeorge School of Law.

He works as an Internet consultant with Carta, Inc.

Caberto and Schmidt

Heidi Dyan Schmidt and Kevin John Caberto were married in Newport

Beach. David Comegys officiated.

The maid of honor was Erica Schmidt. The bridesmaids were Nicole

Meisse, Stephanie Wolden, Danielle Dorsey, Amy McGinley and Kristina

Caberto.

The best man was Christopher Adams. The groomsmen were Timothy

Caraher, Damon Oshita, Paul Vallas, Dave Nichols and Rami Saah.

The reception was held at the Balboa Pavilion in Newport Beach. The

couple will honeymoon in Tahiti and will make their home in Orange.

The bride is the daughter of Janet and Doug Schmidt of Bakersfield.

She attended North High, in Bakersfield and graduated with a

bachelor’s degree in psychology from Cal State Long Beach. She is

studying to be a teacher.

The groom is the son of Jody and Warlito Caberto of Glendale.

He attended St. Francis High School in La Canada Flintridgeand

graduated with a bachelor’s degree in environmental and social ecology

from UC Irvine. He is employed as a senior claims manager for the

Fireman’s Fund.
