Best Buy to open store next to Glendale

ATWATER VILLAGE -- Electronics and appliance giant Best Buy has

announced the opening of a new store in Atwater Village.

The store is part of a larger effort by the company to serve the needs

of east Los Angeles and Glendale customers.

The 45,000-square-foot store will open in the late fall at 2909 Los

Feliz Ave. in Los Angeles, just across the border with Glendale. The

establishment will help to anchor a complex already occupied by Costco

and Toys ‘R’ Us.

Although the management team has been in place for eight months, the

store will hold a Job Fair in August. More than 125 employees will be

needed and the district manager says there are plans to find local people

to fill those jobs.

The store site was chosen because of population density, proximity to

a major freeway and the other tenants.

The company is also looking into a Burbank site.
