GLENDALE -- Locals will find a familiar face on the small screen

tonight.

Jason Dohring, an 18-year-old Glendale resident, stars in “Ready to

Run,” a film premiering on the Disney Channel at 7 p.m.

Being in the limelight is nothing new to Dohring who over the past

eight years has appeared in several movies and television series,

including ABC’s “Once and Again,” on which he plays the recurring role of

Coop.

Jason’s father, Doug Dohring, said many relatives and friends would be

joining the family for a viewing party tonight.

“I’m excited, mostly for him, because this is what he wants to do,”

Doug said. “He’s passionate about it.”

“Ready to Run” tells the story of a girl, Corrie Ortiz, who dreams of

becoming a jockey. Jason plays Moody, a jockey who befriends Corrie.

Doug said he supports Jason’s plan to pursue an acting career when he

finishes his senior year at Delphi Academy in La Canada Flintridge next

year.

“I’m proud of him,” Doug said. “He’s actually really good at what he

does.”
