District announces new hires

DOWNTOWN -- The Glendale Unified School District has appointed five

administrators to new posts.

Lou Stewart will succeed retiring Principal Diane Hawley at Balboa

Elementary School. Stewart returns to Glendale Unified after spending

five years as principal at Paradise Canyon Elementary in La Canada

Flintridge.

Agnes Lally will assume the position of director of food services from

Rick DeBurgh who retired in April. Lally served as general manager/ food

service director in Burbank for five years.

Additional appointments include:

* Loyal Perry Jr. will become assistant principal at Toll Middle

School, succeeding Ed Drenner

* Samantha Barker will become assistant principal at Toll Middle

School, succeeding Amin Oria.

* Lillian Sugahara will become coordinator 3 of extended learning

opportunities in the child development programs.

* Kenneth Gilleland will become construction project manager.
