CITY HALL -- The Chevy Chase Estates Assn. is fighting plans for the
construction of two homes on Cascadia Drive.
The Board of Zoning Adjustments on Wednesday will consider whether a
conditional-use permit should be issued to build on the lot at 2425
Cascadia Drive. It has a slope of 83% and permits are required for slopes
greater than 50%.
A second lot at 2429 Cascadia Drive has a slope of 68.5%.
The applicant is Mark Abrahamian of La Canada Flintridge. His request
was approved by the zoning administrator.
The hearing will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Room 105 of the Municipal
Services Building, 633 E. Broadway.
In other cases, Sager Associates of Glendale is appealing a decision
of the zoning administrator to deny a variance for an addition to a
four-story building at 2233 Honolulu Ave. Codes require more parking and
limit heights above three stories.
Also, Diane and Richard Kim are trying to overturn the zoning
administrator’s approval of a variance that restricts their ability to
sell alcohol in a Chinese restaurant, Kim Ki Kyung, at 818 N. Pacific
Ave.
The permit required the restaurant be closed at midnight, but the Kims
wanted home delivery until 2 a.m.
