‘NSync toys make debut

GLENDALE GALLERIA -- The pop group ‘NSync will make an appearance in

Glendale today.

No, for all those teen fans, there won’t be a live performance.

KB Toys in the Glendale Galleria will be among the first stores of the

national chain to sell marionette figures of JC, Lance, Justin, Joey and

Chris.

KB Toys is lone retailer to sell the figures today, and Glendale has

been selected to host the premiere.

The KB Toys store in the Galleria will have a drawing at 5 p.m. today

to win ‘NSync prizes such as jackets autographed by all five members of

the band, five pairs of tickets to a Los Angeles concert and a giveaway

of the marionette figures, which retail for $12.99 each.

“People know about it already,” store manager George Temourian said.

“We have been getting a dozen calls an hour since the beginning of the

week. It has been broadcast on the radio.”

The 6six-inch figures are clad in official tour costumes and have

strings attached. They include a display stand and a real-life photograph

of the ‘NSync star.

The store is already gearing up for the crowds with music of the band

playing on speakers. The group’s album debuted in the U.S. in 1998 and

sold over 10 million copies. The group won three awards last week in New

York at the MTV Music Video Awards.

Temourian said Glendale is a natural to host the event.

“This is one of our biggest stores, and there is a lot of traffic,” he

said. “We also have a lot of media here.”
