SAN GABRIEL -- A tribute to the big bands is planned by the Music
Theatre of Southern California, which presents musicals at Glendale’s
Alex Theatre as part of its season.
The celebration of music from the 1930s and ‘40s begins at 8 p.m.
Saturday at the San Gabriel Civic Auditorium, 320 S. Mission Drive. The
event features the theater’s big band, singers and dancers performing
pieces like “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy,” “String of Pearls,” “In the Mood”
and others.
Tickets are $20 to $35. For reservations, stop by the box office or
call (626) 308-2868.
Music Theatre’s next production is “Anything Goes” in February.
Musicals continue for three weeks at the San Gabriel Civic and finish the
run with five shows at The Alex Theatre.
